Laser Hair Removal
The Alma Soprano ICE Platinum Laser Hair Removal device utilizes many forms of pulsed light, which allows it to penetrate the skin to the exact depth of the follicle without burning the skin. With laser hair removal, you can eliminate hair at the root while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL:
- A consultation is required and must be booked before a service can be given (and not on the same day), please be prepared to discuss any previous medical and cosmetic/aesthetic procedure history, current/recent medications (including accutane within the past 6 months), any allergies and/or if you suffer from cold-sores. *If prone to cold sores and you’re being treated around the mouth, please inform your provider so we can prescribe valacyclovir before your treatment. Take as instructed.
- The area being treated must not have been exposed to the sun/sunbed for at least two to four weeks before treatment. The use of tanning cream must be discontinued two week before treatment.
- You MUST avoid bleaching, plucking, waxing, threading, (anything other than shaving) the treatment area four weeks prior (and onward during your series of treatment).
- Shave the area that is going to be treated 24 hours before or the morning of your appointment. A clean shave with a sharp razor is must, we don’t want the laser targeting longer hairs that sit above the skin, as this runs the risk of causing burns.
- If being treated on the face, please wear little to no makeup on the treatment area.
- NO RETIN-A OR RETINOL PRODUCTS TO TREATMENT AREA FOR THREE DAYS BEFORE AND THREE DAYS AFTER TREATMENT.
WHAT TO EXPECT POST-TREATMENT FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL:

Immediately after treatment, there may be redness and swelling at the treatment area, this may feel like mild sunburn. You may apply aloe or a cold compress immediately after for comfort and as needed.

Anywhere from 5-19 days after the treatment, shedding of the surface hair may occur and this appears as new hair growth. This is NOT new hair growth. You can clean and remove the hair by washing or wiping the area with a wet cloth.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL:
- Apply aloe vera gel as needed.
- Makeup may be used immediately after the treatment unless there is epidermal blistering.
- Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation or darker pigmentation. Use an SPF of 30 or higher and reapply every 2 hours if you will have prolonged exposure.
- Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. Do not use any other hair removal treatment methods (waxing, electrolysis or tweezing) that will disturb the hair follicle at the treatment area during your treatment series.
- Avoid hot baths and heat treatments and treat the skin gently, as if you had sunburn, for the first 24 hours.
