LASER TATTOO REMOVAL

Not all mistakes need to visibly and permanently mar your future. Laser tattoo removal — which is safe for all skin types — provides patients with the opportunity to renew their appearance, no matter where on the body their tattoo is located.

Whether you regret a previous tattoo or have tattoos that have simply not aged well over time, we can help you turn back the clock on your skin by removing the ink via laser light technology.

Confidence and relief are close at hand when you elect to undergo laser tattoo removal sessions with our team.

We use a Q-switch laser to emit different wavelengths of light depending on the color(s) of your tattoo, effectively heating the ink itself so that the pigment breaks apart into smaller particles and is then flushed out through the body’s natural cleansing process.

This treatment is specifically calibrated so that the ink will absorb the heat while the surrounding tissue, melanin, and hemoglobin remain unharmed. Some patients may require several sessions of laser tattoo removal to achieve optimal results. This is dependent upon:

  • The color of the ink
  • The amount of ink used in the tattoo
  • The depth of the ink injection
  • And more

We recommend that patients wait an average of six to eight weeks between sessions, as this will provide the body with adequate time to metabolize and remove the fractured ink from the previous session.

Before the session, we will provide patients with a topical anesthetic to enhance their comfort throughout their appointment. Laser tattoo removal is the most effective on tattoos comprised of black, blue, green, yellow, and red inks. In some cases, the tattoo may fade and become less visible with time, albeit it may not be erased completely depending on how well the ink absorbs the laser light.

Black ink is the easiest to remove. Small amateur tattoos are also more effectively removed by laser tattoo removal in comparison to large professional tattoos.

Otherwise, patients may experience the following side effects:

  • Redness
  • Bleeding
  • Blistering
  • Scarring
  • And more

Finally, we recommend that patients not undergo tanning before their appointment(s), as it may cause further damage and blister the skin of the treatment area.
