Pre- & Post-Care:
Neurotoxins (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, Daxxify, Letybo)
Neurotoxins soften muscle movements to soften fine lines/wrinkles associated with movement. It can also help with migraines, tmj pain, or hyperhydrosis.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEUROTOXINS:
- Avoid the following:
- unnecessary blood-thinning medications (e.g. NSAIDs like ibuprofen), but please take all medications that are prescribed by your primary physician as you normally would.
- alcohol and smoking 24 hours prior to treatment.
- heavy exercise the day of your appointment
- Please notify your provider if you are currently on or have recently taken any antibiotics, as certain medications can affect treatment results.
- Notify your provider if you have any important events in the two-week period following your neurotoxin treatment.
WHAT TO EXPECT POST-TREATMENT FOR NEUROTOXINS:
- Expect a mild headache for up to 2 weeks.
- Possible bruising and small nodules at injection sites is a possibility.
POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEUROTOXINS:
- DO NOT go in the sun for 72 hours.
- DO NOT apply makeup for 4 hours.
- DO NOT drink alcohol, smoke, or exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid the following:
- facials or massages for 2 weeks.
- cosmetic treatments such as laser, ultrasound, peels, or microdermabrasion for 2 weeks after treatment.
- avoid wearing headbands or hats for 2 weeks or at minimum 24 hours.
- heavy exercise the day of your treatment.
- hot tubs or saunas for 2 weeks.
- bending or laying down for 4 hours.
- sleeping on your side or stomach for 24 hours post treatment to prevent movement.
- blood thinning medications for 3 days if not medically necessary
- Gently wash your face, do not rub or scrub face.
- Be patient, full results take 2 weeks!
