Rejuvenating the skin’s surface can come in a number of different procedures, but microneedling is one of the hottest treatments in today’s skincare world. By creating thousands of tiny micro-injuries in the skin, this non-surgical procedure can stimulate collagen, improve texture and tone, and even improve the appearance of long-lasting scars.
  • Smooth Rough Texture
  • Help diminish the appearance of Acne Scars
  • Minimize Fine Lines & Wrinkles
  • Minimize the appearance of Stretch Marks
  • Address Uneven Skin Tone
  • Skin Laxity
  • Reduces the appearance of Pore Size

Candidates for microneedling treatments are men or women in good overall health. Most people who get microneedling treatments hope to address surface skin problems, such as enlarged pores, fine lines or wrinkles, a dull complexion, or minor acne scars. Microneedling can also help firm the skin’s texture, helping to improve minor skin laxity. Depending on your needs and goals, our medical professionals may recommend additional or alternative treatments to rejuvenate your complexion. Many people choose to combine microneedling with PRP facial rejuvenation.

Before starting your microneedling treatment, your aesthetic provider will apply a topical numbing cream to your face to help keep you comfortable during the procedure. While you wait for the numbness to set in, you can read a book, check your emails, or simply relax. Once you are ready, usually after about 30 minutes, your practitioner will pass the microneedling device over your skin. You may feel small vibrations where the device passes and occasional pricks on the skin, but because of the anesthetic, most people report feeling little discomfort during microneedling.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses the infusion of concentrated platelets harvested from the patient’s blood to accelerate healing in a specific area. It contains two elements – plasma, the liquid portion of the blood, and platelets. The platelets play a vital role in healing and contain growth factors that stimulate cell reproduction and tissue regeneration in the treated area. The patient’s blood is obtained through a simple blood draw and placed in a centrifuge to spin to create this platelet-rich plasma. The centrifuge is necessary to separate the platelets from the remainder of the blood and create a concentrate referred to as platelet-rich plasma. Because the treatments use a patient’s own blood, PRP infusions are safe and can be administered alone or in conjunction with other procedures. PRP is a wonderful addition to microneedling. First, a microneedling tool is used to puncture the skin and make numerous holes in the skin’s surface. PRP is then applied to the skin’s surface and allowed to penetrate the holes created by microneedling. PRP can enhance collagen and elastin production in deeper skin levels. Microneedling with PRP effectively treats acne scars, surgical scars, wrinkles, and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, large pores, uneven skin texture irregularities, and it helps to decrease the appearance of stretch marks. The addition of PRP to microneedling produces superior results over microneedling alone.

Immediately following your microneedling treatment, we will apply a cooling serum or lotion to your skin and you’ll be asked to avoid touching your face for the rest of the day. You may wash your face gently with water before going to sleep that night. Be sure to keep your skin moisturized over the following few days. Your face will appear slightly red for two to three days after your treatment, but it should only appear as noticeable as a minor sunburn. You may develop some slight bruising, which should fade within a few days.

Your results should gradually develop over the coming weeks and months. You may notice that your skin appears clearer and more evenly toned and that your blemishes have lightened or faded away entirely. Your skin may become firmer and plumper with diminished minor laxity or wrinkles. Most people get a series of three to six microneedling treatments, with each session building upon the results of the last.
